MY STORY
Born on the salon floor.
STNCE began on my own salon floor.
After years of long days standing on hard surfaces, the aches became part of the routine - sore feet, tight shoulders, the kind of end-of-day fatigue every stylist quietly accepts.
Anti-fatigue mats existed, but they felt like an afterthought. Bulky, industrial and disconnected from the calm, considered spaces we work so hard to create.
So I went without.
Until I decided to design something better.

I’m Jess - hairdresser, mum of three, and founder of STNCE.
After more than a decade behind the chair, working long days in the salon and on weddings, I began to feel the physical toll of the profession. I realised we spend our days looking after everyone else, while rarely thinking about our own well-being.
STNCE started as something I wanted for my own space.
Now it’s shared with stylists who value both how their salon feels and how it looks.
